This article provides instructions for downloading reports from Skyward SMS to populate rosters in CareerCraft. In the initial upload of this report, the report should be ran for the current school year and the previous 4 school years. This will bring in the rosters for when your current seniors were an 8th grader. For example, if this is the 2024 school year, run the report for the 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, and 2024 school years.
In CareerCraft, click on Settings (blue bar on left).
Click “SIS Integrations” and then choose your Product Platform.
2. Click on “Rostering” under Skybuild Export Template. This will download a file that we can load.
3. Click on the green box that says “Get SFTP Credentials”. In the pop up box, click the red “I am sure” button. Keep the box that generates open, as you will need the information shortly.
Now, navigate to Skyward
Make sure you are in District view. Click “Administration.
Click “Exports” (under Sky Build)
Click “Export File Builder”
Click “Load Interfaces from File” (far right boxes)
“Choose File” and select the Sky Build file that you previously downloaded.
Once it uploads, click “Import”
Once complete, hit the “Back” button and then you should see CareerCraft listed in the interface column. Click on CareerCraft and then click “Edit” button (far right side). When the box pops up, this is where you will copy and paste the SFTP Credentials from the box you kept open. (Host may already be pre-filled- if so, just copy in username & password) Click Save.
Before navigating from this screen, next to “Entry/Withdrawals” and “Student”, click on Edit File. On each, just make sure that the Grad Year range is set to catch all of your current students (if the default is 2020-2029 just leave that).
9. Once you make sure on both of these, you’ll close out and then click “Export”.
This will now start generating the extracts that will be sent to our side of things!
