CareerCraft offers a structured hierarchy of user roles, each with specific permissions to ensure efficient and secure management of student data and career readiness programs. Below is an overview of the primary user roles within the CareerCraft platform:

Role

Description

Admin

Admins have comprehensive access to all features and settings within the platform. They can manage user accounts, configure system settings, and oversee data imports and exports. This role is typically assigned to district-level personnel responsible for overall system management.

Member

Members can view and update student records (will need an admin to approve changes), monitor progress, and generate reports pertinent to their classes or caseloads. This role is suitable for teachers, counselors, and other staff directly involved in student instruction and support.

Viewer (coming soon)

Viewers have read-only access to student records and reports. They cannot make any changes to data or system configurations. This role is appropriate for stakeholders who need to review information without modifying it, such as board members or external auditors.

Assigning User Roles:

Administrators are responsible for assigning roles to users based on their responsibilities within the organization. It's crucial to assign roles that align with each user's job functions to maintain data integrity and security.

Modifying User Roles:

To modify a user's role, administrators can navigate to the user management section within the platform, select the user account, and update the role as necessary. Changes take effect immediately upon saving.

Best Practices:

  • Regular Review: Periodically review user roles to ensure they align with current job responsibilities.

  • Principle of Least Privilege: Assign the minimum level of access necessary for users to perform their duties.

  • Training: Ensure all users are trained on their permissions and understand the scope of their access within the platform.
